Authentic 18-piece big band
The Swing Shift Orchestra is an 18-piece big band specializing in the music
of Big Band Era. Glenn Miller, Tommy Dorsey, and Duke Ellington are just a few of the composers whose music we faithfully
reproduce. Listen to the melodic tones of "The Angels Sing,"
the slamming beat of "Sing, Sing, Sing," and the haunting melody of Ray Charles' immortal "Georgia."
Lend your ear to the tones of "In The Mood", "Pennsylvania 6-5000," and "Little Brown Jug!"
A Swing Shift event is fun and energetic, certain to put a tap in your toes and snap in your fingers.
The SSO has performed
in a variety of venues, and is a staple at such events as the Wurtsboro Street Fair, the Yulan St. Patrick's Day Parade,
and the annual Liberty 4th of July Celebration. We have also been honored
to play for the American Heart Association, the World
War II conference at OCCC, the SCCC scholarship fundraiser at the Granit Associates, the
Galleria at Crystal Run, and for the Air National Guard at Eisenhower Hall at West Point.
